With Bentley's 100th anniversary scheduled for next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition Mulsanne. It is a tribute to the company's founding father, W.O. Bentley, and even contains an item from one of his personal cars.
The model is ordered with a standard Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed or Mulsanne Long Wheelbase. It was inspired by a 1930 8 Litre Bentley owned by W.O. used as his personal car. The influence of the car can be felt throughout the interior as well as the Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet, which has the display window which displays a slice of the original crankshaft of the 8 Litre car that is displayed inside.
Other highlights include a chrome-colored application that runs back along the side of the car, which has an air vent with a photoetched B shape which incorporates W.O. The front grille is patterned after 1930s-appropriate Onyx, and there's an optional chrome application around the lower spoilers to the left and right. The front grille is also unique, featuring the chrome-colored shell instead of the usual body-color mesh like that of the regular Mulsanne and featuring the Flying B logo as well.
A keybox engraved with the Bentley wings can hold two keys, and comes with a black flock lining. keys are individually sized to complement or contrast the key box. The set commemorative includes an exact 1:18 scale model as well an aircraft-like "B" paperweight. The set also comes with a printed booklet featuring never-before seen images of the original 1930s Bentley 8 Litre.
